In the current industrial landscape where environmental protection is increasingly valued, FH-60450 polyol stands out as a notable option. As a glycerine initiated homopolymer polyether triol, it is combined with bio-based polyol, bringing significant environmental benefits. This characteristic makes it in line with the development trend of reducing dependence on fossil resources and improving the carbon footprint of materials.
FH-60450 polyol has a molecular weight of 450, which endows it with multi-purpose usage. It finds applications in rigid coating & binders, casting, adhesive applications, and rigid foams. Its unique composition and properties make it a versatile component in various polyurethane-related production processes.
Property | Value |
Hydroxyl number, mg KOH/g | 370-396 |
Water max. % | 0.05 |
Acid number, max. mg KOH/g | 0.05 |
APHA color, max. | 30 |
Viscosity, cSt, 25°C | 300-360 |
Specific Gravity, 25°C | 1.09 |
These properties work together to provide a balanced combination of viscosity and OH number. This balance is crucial as it enables the FH-60450 polyol to be used as a main component in formulations for both rigid foamed and non-foamed applications. The low water and acid numbers ensure stability in various processing conditions, while the controlled viscosity makes handling and mixing in formulations more manageable.
The FH-60450 polyol finds its utility in several key application areas:
· Foam: It plays a role in the manufacturing of foam materials. Its properties contribute to the formation and performance of the foam, ensuring that the end product meets the required standards for various uses.
· Coating: In coating production, this polyol serves as an important component. It helps in achieving the desired characteristics of the coating, such as durability and adhesion, making it suitable for different coating applications.
· Adhesive: As an adhesive, it provides the necessary bonding strength. Its chemical composition allows it to form strong bonds between different materials, making it a reliable choice in adhesive formulations.
· Binder: In rigid coating and binder applications, it acts as a binder, holding the components together effectively. This ensures the integrity and performance of the final product in these applications.
When it comes to handling FH-60450 polyol, most FH series polyols generally present no significant hazard when simple precautions are followed. However, some FH series polyols may be hazardous, so it is essential to understand the hazards involved in handling all components of the systems and establish and follow safe work procedures.
Material Safety Data Sheets, product literature, and safe handling and storage information for the polyurethane components supplied by Hug Chem are available. For any ingredient not furnished by Hug Chem, recommendations for handling, storage, and disposal should be obtained from the respective supplier.
FH-60450 polyol is slightly hygroscopic and may absorb water. Therefore, containers should be kept tightly closed to protect against contamination with moisture and foreign materials, which can adversely affect processing.
Due to the fact that this product can become quite viscous at low temperatures, storage temperatures between 15°C (59°F) and 60°C (140°F) are recommended for ease of handling.
The shelf life of FH-60450 polyol is twelve months after receipt of the material by the customer, provided it is stored in sealed original containers under the stated conditions.
In terms of packaging, it is available in 200kg nonreturnable steel drums and 1000kg IBC tanks made from HWHDPE. These packaging options are designed to ensure the product's integrity during transportation and storage.
